Here is a letter from a couple in Germany, who whilst on holiday in Tenerife came to us for a dog. They took Sputnik home to Germany with them a few months ag0.

“IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - K9 NEEDS YOUR HELP. AS AN ANIMAL CHARITY WE CANNOT OPERATE WITHOUT YOU THE PUBLIC´S HELP. THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE SUPPORTED BY A NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS THAT TAKES ABANDONED AND SICK ANIMALS INTO THE K9 SANCTUARY AND EVENTUALLY RE HOME THESE UNWANTED ANIMALS. WHILE THEY ARE IN OUR CARE WE NEED TO FEED THEM, PAY TO KEEP THEM IN SANITARY CONDITIONS, PREVENTING FLEAS AND PARASITES, TREAT THEM AT THE VETS (including Spaying), INOCULATE THEM AND SPEND MONEY ON MANY MORE ITEMS. HAVE YOU HEARD OF THE CREDIT CRUNCH? GUESS WHAT, K9 IS FULLY INCLUDED IN THIS. WE ARE FINDING THINGS PARTICULARLY DIFFICULT FINANCIALLY. RAISING MONEY IS NO LAUGHING MATTER. K9 are pleased to announce that they will be holding their CAR BOOT SALES at Happy Days, Costa del Silencio starting on Sunday 5th July. 8am till noon, (on the first sunday of the month). Our thanks goes to Pleasure Island for allowing us to use their premises in Playa de las Americas in the interim period since last April

K9 now have a stall at Alcala Market every Sunday from 9 till 1pm and also on Wednesdays at Playa San Juan Market. More clothes and bric-a-brac are now desperately needed to keep up the good work at the markets. Donations of clothes etc. may be made at the markets or direct to the kennels.

K9 would like to say a huge thank you to Wingate School pupils for the huge amount of money they have raised for us. Our president Elsie went to Wingate on the 15th of April and received a cheque for over €2700, this has been raised by the classes of the school. The school organised a sponser spell and all classes took part, money was also raised by selling unwanted toys, books, games etc. This money is much needed by K9 to pay for the food and vet bills. Once again thank you to everyone involved.
