“IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - K9 NEEDS YOUR HELP.   AS AN ANIMAL CHARITY WE CANNOT OPERATE WITHOUT YOU THE PUBLIC´S HELP.   THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE SUPPORTED BY A NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS THAT TAKES ABANDONED AND SICK ANIMALS INTO THE  K9 SANCTUARY AND EVENTUALLY RE HOME THESE UNWANTED ANIMALS.   WHILE THEY ARE IN OUR CARE WE NEED TO FEED THEM, PAY TO KEEP THEM IN SANITARY CONDITIONS, PREVENTING FLEAS AND PARASITES, TREAT THEM AT THE VETS (including Spaying), INOCULATE THEM AND SPEND MONEY ON MANY MORE ITEMS.   HAVE YOU HEARD OF THE CREDIT CRUNCH?   GUESS WHAT, K9 IS FULLY INCLUDED IN THIS.   WE ARE FINDING THINGS PARTICULARLY DIFFICULT FINANCIALLY.   RAISING MONEY IS NO LAUGHING MATTER.   WE HAVE ECONOMISED AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE BUT CANNOT MANAGE WITH THE LACK OF FUNDS.   NOW WE ARE ASKING YOU TO DONATE YOUR MONEY TO HELP US TAKE CARE OF THESE VERY UNFORTUNATE ANIMALS.   NO MATTER HOW SMALL YOUR DONATION THAT IS NOT A PROBLEM.   LOTS OF SMALL DONATIONS MAKE A BIG!   YOU CAN ALSO DONATE ANY ITEMS FOR THE VARIOUS FUND RAISING SALES, IN FACT ANYTHING AT ALL, WILL SELL!   ALSO BAGS OF DRY DOG FOOD WOULD BE WELCOME.   CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW MUCH DOG FOOD COSTS EVERY MONTH FOR 70 PLUS DOGS AND 20 0R 30 CATS (EUROS 800)?   COME ON TURN OUT YOUR POCKETS AND PHONE:  922782840 or 922740160. IT´S OUR ISLAND AND OUR RESPONSIBILITY.   THANKING YOU ALL FOR THAT SPECIAL EFFORT! An Appeal for Chris

This is an appeal …. Chris is a small white Caniche that came into the kennels with his friend Tina.

He was in a terrible state and looked like Bob Marley on a ‘Bad Hair Day’.  They were both wandering around near Cristian Sur in Los Cristianos, after receiving a phone call we went to collect them.

Chris was booked in for a shave the next day, he was also heartworm tested and castrated at the same time.  Unfortunately he is positive for heartworm, for anyone who does not know, this means he has worms in his heart which will, after time kill him.

Heartworm is very common in Tenerife and everyone should be giving their dogs a preventative each month.  It can be treated but at a cost, so we are asking for help to raise the money, to have him treated.  We need to raise around €50.

Chris also has a problem with his leg, although at the moment we are not sure what it is, other than it is not broken.  As he was in a bad state, it’s possible that with the amount of fur under his foot, it was sore so he limped and has got use to this, he does put it down occasionally but doesn’t appear to have any reason for the limp.

We would also like to send Chris to Austria where he can get a great home and any medical intervention he may need for his leg.  For this we need to raise another €80.
