Well, we are pleased to say we have signed off the final draft of the K9 2009 Calendar and it will be printed this week ready for us to collect on Friday - We think it looks terrific!

A lot of hard work has gone into producing this and we would like to thank Nikki Attree, Gordon Bamber (Torrenter!), all of the Sponsors, the entertainers and of course their pets as well as Mark and the team at Think Design for making it all possible.

We will be holding a Launch Party for the Calendar from 6pm on Sunday, 26th at Cheers Bar in Los Cristianos so I hope some of you will be able to come along and join us there.

(If you havent tried one of their Sunday Roasts, maybe this coming Sunday is a good time to put that right!)

We hope to have some of the people that have been involved with the project at the launch, although I know a few have prior commitments and wont be able to be there (some are even going back to the UK to avoid it!).

Amy Winehouse (without her dog Bud) will be performing her show at 10pm, however I am sure that we will be treated to a few songs from the other entertainers during the course of the evening as well!

Pre sales of the Calendar are excellent, so if you want to buy one and havent made your order yet, let us know soon!

Thanks again

Stephen and Cathy

We still need a few Sponsors for our 2009 Entertainers and their Pets calendar - come on, take advantage of a whole year’s advertising for only 150 Euro.

The Calendar will be A4 Portrait style with the Sponsor panel at the bottom of each month so a full year being hung around people’s walls, plus at least one month (more if you take 2 or 3 months!) on prominent display - how cheap is that for advertising?

Please contact us NOW to reserve your place!

Another fantastic event for K9 Tenerife, thanks Nicola and the team at Oscar’s Entertainment Bar!

We held a Tombola and a Raffle and towards the end of the afternoon we had raised around 200 Euro.  That was however until we were approached by one of the regular customers to Oscar’s Bar who very kindly doubled what we had raised so far!  This meant that by the time we left our total was 534 Euro, thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone there!

Ray Wilde introduced many Entertainers onto the stage during the afternoon (we left at 8pm even though the party was continuing until the early hours), including The Beatles, Waterloo ‘Abba’, Tuxedo Nights, Jesse Garon, Johnny O’Connor as Frank Sinatra, Mitch Mitchell as Freddie Mercury, Kevin Isaacs as Comedy Elvis, The Blues Brothers, Avril Taylor as Cher, Jason as Boy George and a very different Elvis (!).  There was also a very special performance by a young lady from the Ritmania Dance Studios.

We mustn’t forget about Power FM Radio’s live outside broadcast, I believe this went on all afternoon until around 6pm, which meant that people all over the world were able to listen to the Party.  Val Richardson was on the Sofa and interviewed all the acts as they left the stage (it’s a good job it was only radio and not TV, the interview with The Blues Brothers might have had to have been censored!!!!)

Thanks to Chloe, Eli and Veronica for helping to sell the Raffle Tickets during the course of the afternoon, we had a big basket of goodies for first prize, a fruit basket, a bottle of Liqueurs and an hours help and advice from Happy Tails Dog Training.

Special thanks also go to Shahid and the Team from Options Marketing, these guys were amazing and wanted me to make sure that everyone knows they are an equal opportunities employer as they do employ a dwarf called Shaun (I hope I don’t get into bother from the PC Brigade for this remark!).

I understand from Nicola that Oscar’s may be holding this type of event on a more regular basis, so keep an eye out for more details – it really was a great afternoon, I know that many residents were able to meet up with people they hadn’t seen for ages!
